Advanced Care for Foot & Ankle Health

Stem Cell Injections

Regenerative Support for Foot and Ankle Conditions

Advanced Ankle & Foot provides personalized foot and ankle care, with Dr. Scott C. Burdge recommending treatment based on each patient’s diagnosis, medical history, and goals. Options may include conservative care, custom orthotics, EPAT Shockwave Therapy, CentaVisc treatment, and other podiatric services.

What Are Stem Cell Injections?

Stem cell injections is a term commonly used to describe certain regenerative treatment options. At Advanced Ankle & Foot, the treatment offered uses CentaVisc, a placental-derived allograft developed by TheraMicro.

CentaVisc provides a viscoelastic extracellular matrix containing a network of collagen fibers, glycosaminoglycans, and proteoglycans. It is designed to supplement damaged or inadequate tissue and provide structural support at the treatment site.

Every patient and injury is different. Dr. Burdge will evaluate your symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, and the affected tissue before recommending an appropriate treatment plan.

What Is CentaVisc?

CentaVisc is a placental-derived allograft designed for use in areas where tissue is damaged or inadequate. Its extracellular matrix is highly conformable, allowing it to adapt to tissue areas of different shapes, depths, and sizes.

The matrix provides a supportive structure for resident cell activity at the treatment site. CentaVisc may be considered as part of a personalized treatment plan after the source and severity of a patient’s symptoms have been properly evaluated.

Treatment recommendations and individual responses vary. CentaVisc is not intended to replace an accurate diagnosis or a comprehensive foot and ankle care plan.

Combining CentaVisc With EPAT

Advanced Ankle & Foot may use CentaVisc in conjunction with EPAT Shockwave Therapy for appropriate foot and ankle conditions.

EPAT, or Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology, is a separate, non-invasive treatment that delivers targeted acoustic pressure waves to the affected area. These pressure waves help stimulate circulation and support the body’s natural healing processes.

When appropriate, CentaVisc and EPAT may be incorporated into the same overall treatment plan. Dr. Burdge will explain the purpose of each treatment and determine whether a combined approach is suitable for your condition.

Who May Be a Candidate?

Patients with persistent foot or ankle pain, soft-tissue damage, or an injury that has not responded adequately to conservative care may ask about regenerative treatment options.

An evaluation may be considered for patients experiencing:

• Persistent heel pain
• Plantar fasciitis
• Achilles tendon problems
• Tendon or ligament injuries
• Chronic soft-tissue concerns
• Symptoms that have not improved with conservative care

CentaVisc is not appropriate for every patient or condition. A podiatric examination is necessary to identify the source of your symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment.

What to Expect During Treatment

Your care begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms, medical history, activity level, and previous treatments. Imaging or additional testing may be recommended when necessary to better understand the affected area.

If CentaVisc is appropriate, our team will explain how the treatment is administered, whether EPAT will be included, and what you should expect before and after the procedure.

The number of treatments, recovery recommendations, and expected response will depend on your diagnosis and individual treatment plan. Personalized follow-up instructions will be provided to help you care for the treated area.
